OGVG Appoints Daniel Terlizzese as New Research,Innovation & Plant Protection Lead

LEAMINGTON, ON – Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers (OGVG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Terlizzese as the new Research, Innovation & Plant Protection Lead. Daniel brings a wealth of experience and expertise in greenhouse crop management, plant physiology, and innovative agricultural practices.


Daniel holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph, where he conducted significant research on the light environment within greenhouse vegetable crops and the effects of supplemental light photoperiod on greenhouse eggplant. His academic background is complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Biological Science from the same institution.


In his previous roles, Daniel has demonstrated exceptional skills in managing greenhouse crop growth and yield, collaborating with universities and research centers, while communicating scientific results effectively. His recent position as an Agronomist at Sollum Technologies involved enhancing crop growth and yield through dynamic LED lighting and collaborating on novel research projects.


Daniel’s extensive experience includes positions at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where he managed greenhouse crop growth and conducted plant physiological measurements, and Great Lakes Greenhouses, where he designed research trials to improve crop production. His work has been recognized at various conferences, including the Canadian Greenhouse Conference, where he won first prize in the 2023 student poster competition.

Daniel Terlizzese will have officially joined OGVG on November 4. He will be responsible for leading research projects, developing innovative solutions for greenhouse vegetable production, and ensuring the implementation of effective plant protection strategies.
